It was around three in the morning when the calm was shattered. Our Labrador Retriever, Semi, who has been part of our family for eight years, suddenly sprang into action. After the police left and the house was safe again, we showered Semi with love and gratitude. We bought him the biggest bone we could find and wrapped him in the coziest, warmest blanket. Now, he sleeps every night right in front of our bedroom door. We don’t have to say a word — his watchful presence speaks volumes.
